With 35 years of Corrections experience, Anne most recently served as Director of the Missouri Department of Corrections and President of the nationally recognized, Corrections Leaders Association (CLA). Anne retired for a 2nd time, in early December of 2023 to return home to her family in her home state of North Carolina.
Prior to being named as Director in Missouri, Anne served as Director of Community Corrections in North Carolina, specializing in community solutions, intervention tools, and led North Carolina in revamping and implementing a statewide offender management system. Over her 7 years in Missouri, Anne catapulted the Missouri DOC to a nationally recognized leader in numerous areas such as workplace culture transformation, community-based interventions, staff centered care, data, and research. In Missouri, Anne revamped the missions of the community transition centers and community supervision centers, implemented additional programming, expanded community interventions, implemented a statewide wellness program for all staff and trauma informed care for staff, including an employee support unit, expansion of employee health nurses and the privatization of food service (to include staff cafés in every prison). Anne utilized creative solutions to reinvest DOC savings enabling the establishment of numerous initiatives mentioned above and over $175 million dollars in pay raises for DOC staff.
Anne has become nationally recognized as a problem solver, data driven leader who excels as a dot-connector and has made it her mission to elevate the Corrections industry both internally and by embracing partnerships with private industry and not-for profits organizations.
Anne has established deep relations with leaders across the nation and is one of the most trusted, recognizable, and respected names in the Corrections industry.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
